While Israelis remain focused on the dramatic aftermath of the Israeli elections, another potentially significant security story unfolded at sea, and almost nobody is talking about it.
A container ship operating in the service of Israeli shipping company ZIM, traveling from Haifa toward Romania, was reportedly struck by maritime drones in the Black Sea off Bulgaria. The vessel was severely damaged and sank. Thank God, all 18 crew members were reportedly rescued safely.
Who was behind the attack? Was the ship deliberately targeted because of its connection to Israel? Those questions require investigation.
