As fighting with Hezbollah returned days ago, something extraordinary is happening in Lebanon that deserves far more attention.
For decades, Israel fought the same disastrous cycle: defeat our enemies militarily, face international pressure to withdraw, trust international guarantees, watch the terrorists rebuild, and eventually fight another war.
Today, that paradigm is beginning to change.
Hezbollah continues to demonstrate why Israel can never withdraw from southern Lebanon while the terrorist organization remains armed. Yet the critical development is diplomatic: the United States is increasingly placing responsibility on Hezbollah to disarm rather than demanding that Israel withdraw first.
That is a HUGE shift.
