The Ultra-Orthodox Draft Crisis: Some of the Context the Media Isn’t Telling You

Should ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) young men serve in the IDF? Yes. I believe military service in Israel is literally a milchemet mitzvah, both a moral and Torah obligation.

So why am I criticizing the public conversation today surrounding the Ultra-Orthodox draft?

Because without understanding the full context, Israel will never solve this issue.
