Trump’s so-called “Gaza plan,” now wrapped in a UN Security Council resolution, is a moral outrage: after a genocidal massacre on Oct. 7th, the world’s answer is still to dangle the reward of a Palestinian state. And yet, within this disaster, there is a narrow silver lining and a hard real-politic story that must be understood clearly, because buried in the text is also unprecedented international backing for Israel to dismantle Hamas and permanently rewrite Gaza’s future.
