Mental health and suicide are much more prevalent than most people think, yet they get little attention because for too many people it is still taboo to talk about. Hence, many people are left alone without the proper tools or assistance to help themselves or their loved ones.
Rabbi Hammer is trying to change that.
Rabbi Shalom Hammer is an educator whose 18-year old daughter Gila z”l died by suicide on December 5, 2019.
In addition to his regular repertoire as a lecturer for the IDF, and as well as the founder and Director of Makom Meshutaf, under the auspices of Mizrachi, that bridges the gaps between religious and secular, today Rabbi Hammer is also proactive in educating as many people as he can about mental health and suicide to help others.
